Upload a reference
Choose a PNG, JPEG, WebP, BMP, or GIF image up to 20MB. The file is decoded locally on your device.
Upload a reference image, customize the grid, and export a drawing-ready guide. Your image stays in your browser.
GridCrafter turns a photo or sketch into a customizable drawing grid without uploading the image to a server. Use square, triangular, or isometric grids, add coordinate labels or composition guides, and export the result for screen or print reference.
Choose a PNG, JPEG, WebP, BMP, or GIF image up to 20MB. The file is decoded locally on your device.
Set the rows and columns, then adjust line color, thickness, opacity, grid type, labels, and composition overlays.
Download the finished reference as PNG, JPG, or PDF and copy the image one grid cell at a time.
Use one grid editor for simple reference transfer or more detailed composition studies.
Choose from 1 to 50 rows and columns to match the complexity of your subject and drawing surface.
Switch between square, triangular, and isometric grids without re-uploading your reference.
Add A1-style labels to make it easier to find the same cell on your reference and drawing.
Check rule of thirds, golden ratio, diagonals, and the center cross alongside the drawing grid.
Adjust color, width, and opacity so grid lines remain visible without hiding important details.
Export a high-resolution image for digital reference or a PDF that fits the guide onto a page.
Start with fewer cells for a simple subject and add more cells when you need to measure small changes in shape. A 4ร4 or 6ร6 grid keeps the reference easy to read; portraits and detailed scenes often benefit from 8ร8 or more. Use the same row-to-column relationship on the reference and drawing surface to preserve proportion.
Your reference is processed with browser canvas tools and is not sent to GridCrafter. Closing or refreshing the page clears the working image. No account is required, and GridCrafter does not add a watermark to exported files.
The grid method divides a reference and drawing surface into matching cells. You copy the shapes and angles inside one cell at a time, which makes proportion easier to measure.
Yes. Upload a supported image, choose the number of rows and columns, adjust the line style, and export the photo with the grid included.
No. Image processing happens locally in your browser. The tool does not send the reference image to a GridCrafter server.
Use PNG for crisp digital reference, JPG for a smaller image file, or PDF when you want the guide fitted to a printable page.
